Attending the Appeal

The planning appeal will be held at the Council Offices, Letchworth, on 6-8 November. It is a Public Inquiry, which means that members of the public are admitted and can listen to proceedings and, with the Inspector’s agreement, address the Inquiry (this usually happens on the final day). There is no need to register to attend the appeal - you can just turn up. But if you want to speak you need to be there when the Inquiry starts - 10am on 6 November. The Save the Cabinet Action Group would like to encourage as many supporters as possible to attend the Inquiry. We recognise that for many it’s a working day, but a little time invested in sitting in the Inquiry can make a difference in helping to save our pub. The Inquiry is likely to sit for three full days, although it is possible the Inspector may decide to spend part of one day on a site visit. The Inquiry will sit at 10am on the first day. Usually such hearings sit from 9.30 on subsequent days but this depends what the Inspector decides. They usually finish by 5pm, though again this can vary.

Travelling to Letchworth

There is plenty of pay and display parking nearby in the town centre car parks. Alternatively it’s a 5 minute walk from Letchworth station. We would like to gauge interest in a car-sharing arrangement from Reed. If you could offer transport or need transport, please complete the form below. The Action Group will endeavour to match requests for lifts with spare seats. Please note this cannot be guaranteed.
